Ludwig drum sets
Bass Drum Sounding Too Muffled?
I’ve had this Ludwig drum set for probably 8 years now. It is starting to wear down. My bass drum is sounding way too muffled though. When I hit it, its a THUD. I hear more of the pedal pad hitting the head than the actual drum.
Any help?
I’ve got a skinny pillow against the pedal side and a blanket in there too.
Change your skins. Not too cheap, but good for the sound.
Most people like muffled bass, i know i do… used to put pillows in mine.
Mic if its not loud enough.

Slipknot drums
How can I learn the blister exists on drums?
Im a 13 year old boy and im a beginner drummer.
Im going to perform at a live show,the song is going to be the blister exists by slipknot.
Anyone have some tips on how i can learn it faster?especially the double bass because its kinda fast for me.
The show is going to be next month but we are going to rehearse in about a week and i dont want to be embarrassed because i dont know it that much.

Apart from practice, listen to the song a lot and also look at drum covers by other people on -for example- YouTube. And I won’t lie, hardware i.e. more expensive double pedals will help improve your double bass speed. I mean, you can go much faster on a pair of Iron Cobras, for example, than a pair of Millenium double pedals costing less than 1/3rd of the cobras. Joey’s been drumming since he was 8, so don’t get over yourself! If you can’t play the double kick fast enough just play it half time, it’ll still sound pretty good.
