Busking

Busking in Tauranga – Red Square on Saturday, 23 January 2010

Those members of the Therèse Ahlers Cello Studio who were free on Saturday, had a fun day on Red Square, Tauranga. We busked from 11h00 to about 13h00 and had a good opportunity to work through our repertoire as a group. Those members who had an individual piece prepared also performed their solo pieces.

It was great fun and a wonderful experience to perform under “not-such-ideal” circumstances. (One usually expects an audience to be sitting quietly while enjoying the music!) Everyone had to concentrate hard and not get distracted by the passers-by and sidewalk noise of the Saturday shoppers.

After the hard work we all went to have an ice cream. We are keeping the coins we collected in a Cello Kitty which will be used towards future musical outings for the group.
