Fees
Cello Fees:
For effective development of a student’s instrumental skills and musical ability, one-on-one tuition as well as group lessons are essential aspects of my teaching.
I offer a package of one individual lesson and one group lesson weekly:
- Weekly individual lessons (38 lessons per year – some terms have 9 weeks).
- Pre-twinkle to Book 2 level requires a minimum of a 1⁄2 hour weekly lesson.
- Books 3-4 levels require at least a 45 minute individual lesson.
- Books 5-6 levels require an hour individual lesson.
- Books 7-10 levels require 2 x 45 minute lessons (technique and repertoire) per week.
- Weekly group lessons (38 lessons per year): Minimum 4 students per group.
Payment options:
There are 2 options to choose from:
- 12 equal monthly automatic bank payments at the start of each month (Jan-Dec). If starting payments in February or March the previous months may be paid by cheque.
- Term payments in full at the start of each term, within the first two weeks.
My cello fees for 2010 (unchanged since 2008) are the following:
- Books 1-2: (Lesson 30min + Group- 45 min) $134.58 per month or $403.75 per term
- Books 3-4: (Lesson 45min + Group- 45 min ) $186 per month or $558.12 per term
- Books 5-6: (Lesson 1 hr + Group-45 min) $237.50 per month or $712.50 per term
- Books 7-10: (2 Lessons 45 min + Group-45 min) 340.41 per month $1021.24 per term
Please let me know in advance or as soon as possible if a lesson will be missed, (but at least 24 hr notice) so that I can plan for that and re-arrange my schedule (if possible). I will endeavour to find another time or make up a missed lesson. However lessons missed with no prior notice will not be made up.
Graduations:
After successfully completing a Book (level), the student needs to give a “graduation concert” of the whole book.
For all book graduation concerts or individual recitals where my presence is required, my fee will be $40. Any additional cost for venue/accompanists is to be paid by the student. Participation in my studio concerts are free of charge.
NZ Suzuki Association Membership fee
NB: All my students need to pay the NZ Suzuki Association membership subscription fees:
- $65 per family per year, early bird payments before 31 March 2010 is $55. Please refer to the NZSI Membership form on the NZSI website.
